I WUD LIKE TO TELL THIS TO EVERYONE, AFTER A WEEK TIME PERIOD OF HECTIC RESEARCH, I MANAGED TO DOWNGRADE MY DELL XPS M1530 TO WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SP2.
BY FOLLOWING THESE STEPS ON THIS WEBSITE : “http://www.laptopdrivers.net/dell-xps-m1530-laptop-download-vista-to-windows-xp-drivers/”
THERE WERE TWO ISSUES WHICH I HAD BUT I FIXED THEM ALL NOW:
1. THE DRIVER FOR CHIPSET IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED WEBSITE IS OLD NOW, SO AFTER DOWNLOADING THAT ONE, I STILL HAD A MISSING DRIVER MESSAGE IN MY DEVICE MANAGER BUT I HAVE THE UPDATED ONE NOW.
2. I STILL DONT KNOW HOW TO PUT THE SATA INTO AHCI MODE IN BIOS SETTINGS, BUT THAT DIDNT AFFECT ME AT ALL WHILE WORKING ON THE LAPPIE BABY.
ANYONE WHO IS LOOKIG FOR THE STEP BY STEP PROCESS, FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE STATED WEBSITE, AND IF ANYONE NEED ANY SORT OF HELP WITH THE DRIVERS (ONLY IN DELL XPS M1530) I CAN EMAIL THEM, DONT WORRY, AFTER ALL WE ARE ALL BROTHERS FROM DIFFERENT MOTHERS.

SALAM.Vhai I need ur help. I have XPS M1530. I have installed Windows xp instead of vista. But i couldn’t install all the drivers. I have faced to install ACHI. And how to install Ethnernet?? and also dell WUSB ANd many more. Plz vhai help me soon.

I’m reinstalling Win XP SP3 on my dad’s XPS M1530. I did the first trick with the AHCI to ATA switching.. so the Win is installed now ok.
Still trying to gather all the necessary drivers, but the most frustrating thing is:
My Video card doesn’t show up in Device Manager! I guess it still is shown as an “Other Devices” with the yellow question mark.
Now i tried to install the VIA service pack (for the viaagp1.sys file.. That didn’t help.
And I cannot install the Nvidia driver as well..it just won’t let me.
Ohh, and I wasn’t able to install the AHCI driver right after WIN was reinstalled.. Also just wouldn’t let me..don’t remember what was the Error message exactly.. yep, it said ‘Error’ that’s for sure 🙂
Any help here?

Click on the last driver name in the list, it shud appear with the name “Nvidia-8400M-8600M-XP.zip”. Click on it and download it from there.

Hi there, a month ago bought brand new DELL XPS M1530 with no WLAN.made in Poland, model no PP28L Now want to add a card. however suspect that the DELL intentionally put some staff around the originally designed jack to prevent any card from being inserted. This conclusion followed opening of the standard card cover with 2 screws. Unfortunately can not post pictures here to hear on your thoughts. USB wifi adapter or pc express are still the option but would go for them only as a last resort. can send pictures to private email if someone would take this matter further.
Any ideas, suggestions are much appreciated.
