This utility will examine your system configuration and detect all Solid State Drives (SSD) installed in your ThinkPad.
The utility will then check the firmware revision of the SSD and judge whether your system requires a firmware update or not. If required, it will prompt you to run the appropriate firmware update program for your drive.
For that purpose, it is necessary to have the CD/DVD/BD writing software (with CD/DVD/BD creation function from the ISO image file) prepared separately.
Also, any one of the following types of CD-RW, CD-RW & DVD Combo, DVD, DVD Multi, BD or other drives should be prepared. (Hereafter these drives are called as "optical drive".)

A written disc will be bootable. It will boot from your External USB Optical Disc Drive and run the update utility program.
