This BIOS Update Utility updates the BIOS (system program including the Embedded Controller (EC) program) stored in the ThinkPad system to fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.
Supported ThinkPad systems (15 inch normal screen models):
- R61 (Machine types: 8942, 8943, 8944, 8945, 8947, 8948, 8949)
- R61i (Machine type: 8943)
Supported operating systems:
- Windows 7 32-bit
- Windows 7 64-bit (*1)(*2)
- Windows Vista 32-bit
- Windows Vista 64-bit (*1)(*2)
- Windows XP (Home Edition and Professional)
Notes:
*1: Supports the models with Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processors only.
*2: If Windows 7 64-bit or Vista 64-bit is already installed on your system, then you must use the bootable CD ISO format of this BIOS update.
- This program is language independent and can be used with any language system.
